Nora has been singing folk songs all her life. Growing up singing with her banjo playing dad and her six sisters, she simply never stopped. They sang everything from Jamaica Farewell and Sloop John B to John Denver and James Taylor with a good deal of church singing mixed in.  She notes that “I play both traditional and contemporary folk and am happiest when I find something people can sing along with.”

Making music and performing individually for 50+ years, The Geezers is a band comprised of five musicians.  Some self-taught, others formally trained, some just persistent, these mildly grumpy old men have been playing together in the Rochester area for over two years.  With a focus on the recently popularized category of “roots music,” their repertoire includes folk, country and blues with a little reinterpreted rock and jazz mixed with more traditional music.
