This concert was the first Golden Link concert held at the new Writers and Books facility at 740 University Avenue. The very attractive, comfortable and cozy space was filled by the masterful autoharp playing and singing of Brian Bowers and his wife Kate. The music ranged from acapella field hollers and gospel music to traditional old-timey songs and from the Carter Family to Bill Staines, many featuring tight, polished harmonies by Kate. Brian's music was interspersed with and given extra substance by folksy, amusing stories. All who attended had a great time, and there was plenty of audience participation.
