In the interest of offering more people the opportunity to contribute your time and talents to Golden Link, we are offering this 2 or 3-tier workshop on how to set up the sound system, run it, and use it.
For set-up volunteers, knowing where to place the cords, what lines plug into what jacks, how to place speakers for acoustic effectiveness, and a multitude of other details that must be executed in a limited time is a cherished commodity among those trying to prepare for Fifth Tuesday Concerts and other member events where our own sound system is used.
For performers, understanding the peculiarities of this particular sound system involves knowing the range and directionality of the mics, proper approach to the mics, self-monitoring and on-stage adjustment, and a number of other non-necessarily-intuitive details.
Running the sound board – is for a select few, but may be on the workshop agenda if someone is ready to undertake that complex task.
The workshop will be run in a manner that simulates set-up, sound check and running the sound board in the order that these functions would occur in a real concert situation. More than one tier may be running simultaneously. After you register, Dean Santos will contact you by email to determine which of these tiers you'd be interested in.
If you have questions, please contact Dean Santos using this email link for our Education Coordinator.
Registration is CLOSED for this workshop.
Note: The Last day for registration is Saturday, March 5th. Workshop is subject to cancellation if there is insufficient interest, based on number of registrations.
