“Tom Paxton’s songs are so powerful and lyrical, written from the heart and the conscience, and they reach their mark, our most inner being … they are beautiful and timeless, and meant for every age.” – Judy Collins
Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winner and folk icon Tom Paxton teams up with the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter duo The DonJuans – Don Henry & Jon Vezner. After 56 years of performing around the world and writing and recording innumerable songs and recordings, Tom Paxton has found yet another outlet for his creativity. He has joined his friends and songwriting colleagues in a writing and performing experience calculated to keep them too busy to get into trouble.
Paxton has performed thousands of concerts in venues ranging from coffeehouses in Greenwich Village to Albert Hall in London and Carnegie Hall in New York. He has done more than 50 concert tours in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland and has recorded more than 50 albums of his own songs. Hundreds of other artists have recorded his songs, including Bob Dylan; Johnny Cash; Willie Nelson; Dolly Parton; Judy Collins; John Denver; Joan Baez; and Peter, Paul and Mary.
In the nearly 25 years since “Where’ve You Been” -- their song which was recorded by Kathy Mattea and was the first song in country music history to sweep all major “song of the year” honors -- Don Henry & Jon Vezner have performed in venues from New York’s Bottom Line to Nashville’s Bluebird Café. They have shared stages with artists as diverse as Joey Ramone, John Hartford, Michael Johnson, and David Crosby and their songs have been recorded by a multitude of artists including Janis Ian, Ray Charles, John Mellencamp, and Miranda Lambert, to name a few. Working as a duo, the DonJuans offer an impressive array of songs, experience, and gifted musicianship.
