Enjoy a fun evening of music to beat the midwinter blues with this double bill of local favorites, Dave North and Crooked North!
The Crooked North is an acoustic, Americana string band that features some of the top bluegrass players in Western New York. They capture the high energy of a new generation of modern bluegrass, the gritty soul of great American songwriting, and the Rust Belt ethos of their hometown. The band includes Jon Itkin on guitar, Ben Proctor on banjo and dobro, Rita Proctor on vocals, and Jordan Kleiman on bass. The band has played clubs and festivals across New York state, including Brantling Bluegrass Festival, Rochester Fringe Festival and Rochester International Jazz Festival.
A native of Slough, England, Dave North has been playing Celtic folk music in the Upstate New York area since the mid-80s. He has an amazing repertoire of songs, from traditional ballads and sea songs to more contemporary songwriters such as Donovan, Van Morrison, and Christy Moore, with comic ditties and English music hall songs thrown in to mix it up. He will be joined for this gig by Marc Loan.
