Good news! In addition to the live concerts that you can watch online, this year’s
Turtle Hill Folk Festival will also be broadcast on
Folk Music Notebook, a 24/7 internet folk radio station, with two concerts each day the weekend of
September 11–13. Thanks to Ron Olesko for making this happen!
Folk Music Notebook has already streamed other festivals this summer, including Old Songs Festival, Falcon Ridge, and Goderich Celtic Festival. So we are in good company!
If you haven’t listened to Folk Music Notebook, I would encourage you to check it out:
https://folkmusicnotebook.com/
You can listen online, on your portable devices, or using an Alexa device. The station plays music by a lot of the same performers we’ve had here for Golden Link concerts or the Festival and some of them – like Joe Jencks, Christine Lavin, and Matt Watroba – even have their own radio programs on Folk Music Notebook.
There is no fee to attend the virtual Turtle Hill Folk Festival, but we hope you will be generous and put something in each of the performer’s tip jars, and also contribute to Folk Music Notebook for keeping the music alive. After each concert, head on over to Zoom for a post-concert reception and have a chance to talk with that day’s performers. See below for the basic schedule, and find all the Festival details at
www.goldenlink.org/festival
Now more than ever, we need music in our lives. While we await the return of Turtle Hill – albeit virtually – keep on singing!
