Golden Link's 50th Anniversary Celebration!
On May 18, 1971, a group of Rochester-area musicians gathered to start a folk music club “dedicated to the appreciation and enjoyment of folk music.” By September of that year, the name “Golden Link” had been chosen, inspired by the Folk-Legacy album called “The Golden Ring.” Some of the participants at that first meeting are still involved with Golden Link, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
A 50th Anniversary is known as the Golden Anniversary so it's only appropriate that, to mark the occasion, Golden Link is holding a special concert featuring Rochester musicians of special significance to Golden Link, including:
Mitzie Collins & Barbara Jablonski
Bill Destler
Val Fowler
Allen Hopkins
Joe LaMay & Sherri Reese
Vern Lindberg
Bob & Karen Olyslager
Mike Reynolds
Niki Roosa
Patrick & Kathy Schwar
Dave Shaver
Christina Stewart
Bob White
(not in performance order, subject to change)
There is no charge to attend the concert, which will be streamed on Golden Link’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
After the concert, join us for a Zoom party where you can share stories about your involvement in Golden Link.
