Golden Link presents Aztec Two-Step 2.0

Featuring Rex Fowler, Dodie Pettit & Friends

Rochester, NY – Staples of 70s era FM progressive rock and college radio, Rex Fowler & Neal Shulman burst on the scene in 1972 as Aztec Two-Step and went on to leave an indelible mark on folk-rock music. Rex Fowler’s new band Aztec Two-Step 2.0 will perform a concert for the Golden Link Folk Singing Society on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 7:30 pm at the Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield.

Since Neal retired in 2018, Rex and his wife Dodie Pettit – an accomplished musician in her own right and an original member of The Phantom of the Opera – are now the heart and soul of ATS 2.0. Along with members of their new ensemble, they continue to expand and explore the band’s musical legacy with fan favorites, forgotten gems, and outstanding new original compositions. They have recaptured the feeling of the original recordings while putting a fresh spin on their classics. Dodie Pettit’s dazzling lead guitar continues where Neal left off and she and the band join Rex on two- and three-part harmonies. The stage patter is still as engaging, fun, and poignant as ever.

“The old songs done in Rex’s new lineup has brought new life to the music. This truly is a band that people need to experience!!”

Ron Olesko of Folk Music Notebook and Hurdy Gurdy Folk Club
