January brings us another month with five Tuesdays. As is customary, instead of a sing around we'll be having a Members Showcase concert to bring you some of our talented members performing in short sets during the evening. It's always entertaining, and definitely fun! Join us on January 29th for this uniquely Golden Link event.
Ruth began singing about age 5 performing in the East Berlin Church Children's Choir. She continued singing in in a variety of groups from church, school, traveling bands (Gospel, Country, Folk, Old Timey, Blugrass, Madrigal) and as a solo performer. Ruth played clarinet from the elementary school through college and the bassoon in High School. She learned to play guitar in order to have more opportunities to sing. Raised in South Jersey, Ruth had lived in Michigan, Montana, China and finally settled in Rochester in 1983 on the recommendation of friend due to the rich music environment. After meeting her future husband, Dana Fine, in 1998, Ruth began learning to play the mandolin. She has been member of Golden Link for the past 35 years
Art plays guitar and sings. He plays bluegrass, jazz, blues and folk music. His influences include Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Church Music, Bluegrass, and1940's Jazz and Blues.
This group plays a wide variety of Americana, Folk, and Roots songs, bringing together both the familiar and the esoteric. Their lively arrangements, vocal harmonies, and evocative songs that will as likely leave you tapping a toe as wiping a tear. The group features Dan Kuchta on rhythm guitar and vocals, Maureen Kuchta on woodwinds, playing sax, clarinet, and recorders, Linda Becker on vocals, guitar, violin, and percussion, and Doug Green on vocals and bass. Dan and Maureen have been making music together for over 30 years, and Linda has been with them for the last 15. Doug is a recent addition but brings many years of experience in the music industry.
