Golden Link presents the 55th Annual Turtle Hill Folk Festival on September 19, 2026
Annual Golden Link event features concerts, workshops, singing,
jamming, food, and fun.
Rochester, N.Y.—Enjoy a day of folk music at the 55th Annual Turtle Hill Folk Festival, presented by the Golden Link Folk Singing Society at The Historic German House, 315 Gregory St, in Rochester, NY on September 19, 2026. The festival will feature an afternoon concert with Kate Gaffney & Benjamin Chandler, and evening concerts by David Francey and Bruce Molsky. Tickets to the festival go on sale on July 15 on the Golden Link website.
At Turtle Hill, the audience not only gets to see these performers on stage, but also interact with them during workshops and small presentations during the day on Saturday, with many informal opportunities to sing and play music together. The festival is excited to have members of the Submarine School of music participating in activities again this year. The festival will include the traditional grand finale Saturday night with all of the performers.
Concert performers (in performance order):
Kate Gaffney & Ben Chandler: They share an unprecedented musical connection that sounds as if they’ve been playing together for decades. Their collaboration began in late 2025 when Kate asked Ben to accompany her for a Philadelphia Folksong Society performance. The chemistry was undeniable. They fuse acclaimed songwriting, soaring vocals, nuanced harmonies, and dynamic guitar work to craft original music that is deeply personal and authentic. It’s folk-chic, cosmic-tinged Americana that captures the intimacy of a front porch jam and the vibrant energy of a rock club.
David Francey: Is a Scottish-born Canadian carpenter-turned-songwriter, who has become known as “one of Canada’s most revered folk poets and singers” (Toronto Star). "David’s straightforward songs tell honest stories of real people and real places. Poetic perception and a keen eye for the heart of the matter are trademarks of the man and his music. His songs and stories are a direct connection for audiences seeking depth and meaning in the day-to-day."
Bruce Molsky: Grammy-nominated, described as “an absolute master” (No Depression Magazine), Molsky transports audiences to another time and place, with his authentic and personal interpretations of rarities from the Southern Appalachian songbook and other musical traditions from around the globe. Best known for his work on the fiddle, Bruce’s banjo, guitar and his distinctive, powerful vocals also resonate with listeners. His combination of technical virtuosity and relaxed conversational wit makes a concert hall feel like an intimate front porch gathering.
