Easy Folk Songs for Ukulele - Beginner Level
The ukulele is particularly well suited for playing folk music. In this workshop, you’ll learn to strum and sing along to a few familiar folk songs on the ukulele, using basic chords in the key of C. Most of the songs will have three or four chords, max. Along the way, you’ll learn a little music theory, such as chord progressions using I, IV & V chords. Bring your uke and your singing voice.
Janice Hanson was inspired to pick up the ukulele after seeing Jake Shimabukuro at the Rochester International Jazz Festival in 2009. She is an active member of Golden Link and chair of Golden Link’s monthly concert series and has worked for more than 30 years in arts marketing, currently at The Hochstein School.
Register (online only) by Sunday, September 8th at midnight.
