Golden Link presents a "New Voices" Showcase Concert featuring Kara Fink, Marye Lobb & Hanna PK
Rochester, NY – Here in Rochester, we are lucky to have many talented local musicians. For this special “New Voices” Showcase, Golden Link features three talented local musicians and songwriters who have not performed before on our concert series. Kara Fink, Marye Lobb, and Hanna PK will be performing on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 7:30 pm at Greece Baptist Church, 1230 Long Pond Road, Rochester NY 14626. See below for Golden Link’s COVID safety protocols.
Kara Fink is a singer/songwriter based in Rochester. With training in classical, jazz, and contemporary guitar and voice, Fink creates music that can be difficult to categorize into a single genre. The soulful twang of her voice over colorfully complex chords give her a unique “eclectic-folk” sound. Her music has often been compared to that of Joni Mitchell, Norah Jones, and Jason Robert Brown.

Marye Lobb explores with a piercing honesty the joy of discovery and the pain of loss, hanging on and letting go, wandering abroad and going home. These are just some of the themes that she touches on, with a soaring voice that invites you to make her journey yours, too. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, she realized music was her calling after studying abroad and working with local musicians in the south of Chile. Her music incorporates elements of folk, new age, Latin, and jazz and she counts as her biggest influences Ella Fitzgerald, Regina Spektor, and Astor Piazzolla.

Hanna PK is a solid pianist, soulful vocalist, and vibrant performer, born and raised in South Korea and currently residing in Rochester. She plays a wide variety of the blues and swing, old school folk, and boogie-woogie. She has a dynamic songwriting style – ranging from a funky tune with socially conscious lyrics to a mournful slow blues, from a pop-edged ballad to an uplifting swinging number, and from barrelhouse boogie to jazz. Her seemingly sweet and soft-spoken appearance often leads to surprise when hearing her rich, resonating voice that goes from a whisper to belting with intensity. What draws the audience closer to her heartfelt, honest music are her genuine passion and the originality that comes from within.
